Eye Examinations
Eye examinations are essential health check-ups that should be scheduled at least once every two years, regardless of age. Beyond ensuring optimal vision for daily activities like driving and computer work, they play a crucial role in maintaining eye health.
Our priority is to conduct thorough and comprehensive eye examinations, with our trained professionals dedicating ample time to assess the condition of your eyes. Following the examination, we take the opportunity to discuss your visual requirements and provide tailored solutions. Our services extend to individuals of all age groups, including infants.
Types of eye examination
Essential Eye Examination
Our standard essential eye examination is conducted thoroughly and comprehensively by our Principal optometrist who dedicates ample time to assess the condition of your eyes and explain everything to you.
Advance Gold Eye Examination
An Advance Gold Eye Examination offers an unparalleled and in-depth analysis into your ocular health. Using binocular microscopy every aspect of the eye is examined. We utilise our Maestro OCT to conduct a CT scan of your eye allowing an in-depth analysis of every retinal layer and the choroid (blood vessel network behind the retina). This is also the Gold standard to differentiate between Wet and Dry macular degeneration. Finally we also perform a glaucoma analysis scan which dissects the optic nerve to analyse several aspects of the nerve and measure the nerve fibre layer thickness.
Why are eye examinations necessary?
A significant portion of vision loss can occur before symptoms manifest. By being proactive and visiting an optometrist regularly, you can prevent serious issues later in life.
The eye examination constitutes the focal point of your appointment with us. We allocate 30-minute slots for our standard adult eye tests, ensuring our optometrists conduct meticulous, unrushed assessments.
Undoubtedly, eye examinations are integral to everyone's healthcare regimen. Here are ten compelling reasons to prioritise regular eye check-ups:
- Vision is irreplaceable; safeguard it with regular examinations.
- Unlike dental problems, eye issues often lack noticeable symptoms.
- Early detection through eye examinations can identify potentially sight-threatening conditions like glaucoma.
- Timely intervention significantly enhances the chances of successful treatment, especially for children and seniors.
- Eye examinations may unveil underlying health issues beyond just vision.
- Assessing the need for corrective measures like spectacles ensures optimal vision correction.
- Good vision translates to improved productivity, safety, and overall quality of life.
- For students, clear vision is fundamental for academic success; eye examinations can uncover obstacles hindering learning.
- As people age, deteriorating vision is often accepted as inevitable, but addressing issues through eye examinations can vastly enhance quality of life.
- Adequate vision is paramount for safe driving; ensure compliance with legal vision requirements.
Prioritising eye examinations not only safeguards vision but also contributes to overall health and well-being.
